This Editorial Policy describes how content on recipes.salamblog.com/ is created, reviewed, corrected, and updated. It exists so that readers, advertisers, and search engines can understand the standards behind everything we publish.
1. Originality
Every recipe and article is written by our own team in our own words. We do not copy text or photographs from other publications, and we do not publish machine-generated content as if it were tested human work. Where a dish is a traditional or regional classic, we acknowledge its origin and describe how our version differs.
2. Recipe Development and Testing
- We research the dish and its traditional preparation.
- We cook a first version and record exact weights, volumes, times, and temperatures.
- We repeat the recipe at least once more, adjusting seasoning, ratios, and method.
- We test at least one common substitution or variation where practical.
- We photograph the finished dish and, where useful, key steps in the process.
- We write the instructions in a way a first-time cook can follow without ambiguity.
3. Accuracy and Sourcing
Factual claims about food science, safe cooking temperatures, storage times, and ingredient properties are checked against reputable sources such as national food safety agencies and established culinary references. We link to authoritative sources where they add value for the reader.
4. Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Readers can report an error at [email protected]. Substantive corrections — for example a wrong oven temperature or a missing ingredient — are made promptly and noted on the page. We do not silently delete content to hide a mistake.
5. Updates
Recipes are reviewed periodically. When we improve a method, add a variation, or refresh photography, we update the page and revise the “last updated” date. We do not change a publication date simply to appear more recent.
6. Independence From Advertising
Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over our editorial content. Ad placement decisions are made separately from content decisions, and no sponsor reviews or approves our recipes before publication. Sponsored content is always labelled. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
7. Use of AI Tools
We may use AI tools for limited support tasks such as grammar checking, outlining, or generating nutrition estimates. All published recipes are cooked, tested, and written by humans, and every page is reviewed by a person before publication.
8. Comment Policy
Comments are welcome and moderated. We remove spam, personal attacks, hate speech, and unrelated promotional links. Constructive criticism and honest reports that a recipe did not work are always allowed — that feedback is how recipes improve.
